ORGANIZATION

The United States Veteran Reserve Corps is a 501(c)(3), military-style CERT Organization.  Our soldiers are veterans and civilians alike. Each soldier goes through rigorous training through the State Guard Association and FEMA CERT courses to be capable of assisting municipal, county, state, and federal governments in disaster relief and emergency response.

Promotions are based on time-in-grade, MTO billet availability, and promotion boards.

The U.S. VRC is currently divided into two brigades, North and South), running along the 37th Parallel, with the 1st Indiana Battalion acting as an informal Midwest Brigade, due to its service area.

Prepared to respond to Stafford Act Emergencies and other emergency response needs, the U.S.-VRC is mission-ready in:

Incident Command, Planning, Logistics, Internal and External Training, Family Reunification/Search and Rescue Ops, Points of Distribution, Cyber Emergency Response, Radio and Mobile Communications, Emergency Medical Support, Feeding & Sheltering Support Operations, and Pastoral and Behavioral Health.
