RECRUITMENT

DSC_0011.JPG

Soldiers from Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio comprise the 1st Indiana Battalion and primarily conduct missions within this region.

Like the National Guard and Reserve, the Battalion drills one weekend a month.

All soldiers conduct basic training (prior service waives the basic training requirement) and AIT.  In addition, US-VRC soldiers conduct additional CERT training through FEMA, which prepares them to respond to real-world situations in disaster relief and emergency response.

To serve in the U.S. VRC, you must be at least 18 years of age, be able to pass a background check, and be physically capable to carry out the duties of the VRC.  This minimum age requirement does not apply to those enrolled in the Cadet program operating under the guidelines of the Scouts of America.

To join the U.S. VRC, you may fill out the online application.
